National Finals Rodeo wraps up the PRCA rodeo season with 10 days of championship performances. As one of the most prestigious rodeos in the world, this event brings rodeo fans and cowboys from far and wide to Las Vegas for the extravaganza. All-Around

For the first time in half a decade, a cowboy not named Stetson Wright will take home the PRCA’s highest honor. With the five-time defending all-around champion sidelined all season, someone else can claim the accolade — but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be someone new.

Former world champion tie-down roper Shad Mayfield has been the leader since June when he added steer roping to his portfolio. The Clovis, New Mexico, cowboy is searching for his second gold buckle.

However, 2016 all-around champ Junior Nogueira, also a two-time world champion team roping heeler, earned enough in tie-down roping late in the season to join the race. They’re both trying to fend off Coleman Proctor, who finished in the top 20 in team and steer roping for a shot at his first all-around title.

Miles City's Haven Meged, who is ranked No. 2 in tie-down roping, is searching for his second world title. Meged won the average championship last year and did so by setting an NFR record with a 10-day average of 7.74 seconds.

Jason Beck is a name I keep hearing, but Utah might have competition for him, too. Throw out the fact that he’s coached with Bronco Mendenhall for years, Beck is known as a quarterback guru and an offensive innovator who runs a simplified, but effective spread offense. He’s also good at adjusting that to either the run of the pass. I’ll likely have more thoughts on it later, but I wanted to put this out there for everybody.

This could actually be a sneaky good hire if it comes to that.

If the National Finals Rodeo is the Super Bowl of rodeo, the All-Around title is the Vince Lombardi Trophy, and for the first time since 2019, it’s guaranteed to change hands this year. Five-time back-to-back champion Stetson Wright is still recovering from an injury he sustained at last year’s event, which has blown the competition wide open.

World champions will be crowned in Las Vegas. Get ready for the 66th annual National Finals Rodeo.

Now in its 38th year, The Cowboy Channel Cowboy Christmas is located in South Hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The Cowboy Channel Cowboy Christmas features exhibitors from across the United States, as well as interactive experiences for rodeo fans. The event is free and will run starting Thursday, December 5, thru Saturday, December 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Steer Wrestling competition has real feel-good potential, with perennial nearly-men Dakota Eldridge and Will Lummus hoping to do enough to reel in hot-shot Dalton Massey and fend off the reigning five-time champion Tyler Waguespack as he eases his way back after injury.
