12/4 Offensive Coordinator Update (ALEX UPDATE 12:40)

This process has been exhausting. These things can change so fast even when they’re at the finish line, and Leftwich still might be the guy for Utah. However, here’s some developments. The Texas Tech offensive coordinator position is now open, where he would be a great fit. Zach Kittley, was their previous offensive coordinator and he’s now the head coach FAU.

Former BYU quarterbacks coach and current New Mexico offense coordinator, Jason Beck‘s name has been thrown around a bunch by people I’ve talked to. I don’t know what to think of it, but there are a lot of people that are extremely high on his results as coach. I know a lot of Ute fans would not be thrilled with this because of the association with Bronco Mendenhall.

Yesterday while doing my digging I received enough info to expect the Leftwich hired to happen. I also had two other people, including one that is a well-respected national reporter with a different network say the same when we were picking each other’s brains.

One additional thing I’m also hearing is that anybody that’s been around Kyle lately, gets the sense that he’s not talking like a guy that is ready to retire.

Stay tuned, this has gotten so interesting…
