The Utes scrimmaged today and it sounds like the coaches were all happy with the results. No stats were given to the media, since we weren’t allowed to watch, but here’s a breakdown of today’s interviews:

Whittingham

-It was a productive and healthy scrimmage that went for about three hours

- The one on both sides looked really sharp.

-Wilmore has continued to emerge and really showed up in the scrimmage. He might be forcing their hand for playing time.

-There were few penalties and a few turnovers. You obviously want to play as clean of football as possible.

-Blackmon had a pic during the scrimmage and continues to show that his move was a smart decision.

-He was pleased with the offensive line and now they’ll go back to the film and identify the top five for Monday.

-As well as Wilmore played, Brumfield and DHC did a nice job today, as well.

-The deep ball was really good...

“Jalen Dixon, he is a legit deep threat—as legit of a deep threat as there is in the country.”

-Bam has practiced the last two days. He is big 6’8” 337. He’ll be in pad, come Monday.

-Depth at LB is limited four have stepped up looking for six.

-Kickers had a better day, but still not where they would like them to be

Scalley

-The ones really brought it during the scrimmage today and were flying all over the place. The twos need to make up some ground, for when they need to be called upon.

-The defensive line had a great scrimmage. At one point, Mika Tafuna stripped the QB and Bradlee Anae took it in for a touchdown.

Ludwig

-The offensive line is getting better each day.

-They have Nick Ford playing everywhere, so they can find their best five guys.

-Jaylen Dixon showed his speed and is developing into an every-down player. He got behind the defense a lot today.

-The installation is done and now it’s just about refining and repetition.

-Like Whittingham, Ludwig is how on Wilmore, calling him very productive.
