The Daytona 500 is approaching fast, with NASCAR heading to Florida for the 67th edition of one of the biggest events in motor racing.

Daytona International Speedway is ready for the 200-lap race, which serves as the first official event of the NASCAR Cup Series regular season. 45 drivers are entered, with Denny Hamlin looking to join Richard Petty and Cale Yarborough in having at least four Daytona 500 victories. In NASCAR's traditional preseason exhibition, the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium, Hamlin finished third, with Hendrick Motorsports' Chase Elliott crossing the finish line first.
Ryan Blaney, Joey Logano, and Brad Keselowski are among the favorites to win Sunday's race, but just about anything can happen in this sport. Take 2024's race as an example: William Byron — another Hendrick driver — took the checkered flag in Daytona, but only after NASCAR analyzed footage following a 23-car pile-up.

The Duel at Daytona, which serves as both qualifying for the Daytona 500 and a source of regular-season points, is scheduled for Wednesday Feb. 12, will air on FS1 at 8 p.m. ET.
That said, the race won't be the only time NASCAR's finest take to the track. On Wednesday, Feb. 12, there will be a practice session before Daytona 500 qualifying (8 p.m. ET on FS1). There will be two more practice sessions (Friday Feb. 14 and Saturday Feb. 15) before the race itself.
