These two teams have split the season series at one game apiece with both matchups coming down to the wire. The Bluejays got the best of the Red Storm the first time around with a one-point win back in late-December, and St. John's returned the favor by beating Creighton 79-73 in mid-February.
RJ Luis Jr. has played a massive role in the success of St. John's this season and is the primary reason they find themselves as the No. 6 ranked team in the country. Luis is averaging 18 points per game as a junior and will look to bounce back from a poor shooting night in the semifinal round in which he scored 13 points on less than 25 percent from the field. Prior to the off-game, he had scored 20 points in four consecutive contests.
In the last round, the Bluejays also survived a down-game from their best player Ryan Kalkbrenner. Kalkbrenner contributed 12 points in their 71-62 win over UConn, but in their previous matchup the senior center had 32 points, nine rebounds, and five blocks. Creighton will have a solid chance to upset the top-ranked team in the Big East if he can dominate the paint in this one like he has for much of the season.
