Here's my take on the matchup:
PG - Rylan Jones > Averette. Better shooter, better A/T ratio, better in the clutch.
SG - Plummer < Barcello. Barcello is more consistent. Plummer is more of a wild card. Barcello is shooting over 60% on 2's and 3's. Hopefully, we can D him up. It would be nice if hot Plummer shows up on Saturday.
SF - Timmy Allen > Harding. Not close.
PF - Jantunen > Lohner. Jantunen is super solid in an Alex Jensen kind of way. Lohner's off to a slow start. Lohner's ditching us creates some added emotions on both sides.
C - Carlson = Haarms. Good matchup for Carlson because Haarms won't be able to push him around. I love Carlson's development. Big upside.
Bench - We have the best player on either bench in Larsson. BYU has a few more options on its bench than we do. Their back up C Harwell could pose some problems for us as he's a big, physical kid. This would be a good game for Ian Martinez to show up.
Coaching - LK > Mark Pope when it comes to game planning and in-game coaching. Pope runs circles around LK in being the face of the program, but that won't help BYU after tip-off.
We beat them last year. Utah is better now. BYU isn't after losing 3 very high calibre guys. No fans should help us. I think we get the W.
