I have my predictions written in my Key Matchup which will be posted later today, but I wanted to get the discussion going early:
what are your game predictions?
Which Troy Williams do you think we'll see, the calm and collected SUU game Troy Williams or the somewhat collected Troy that tried to force a few bad passes against BYU? Side note, I loved that he was able to face that adversity and be able to come back in that critical 4th quarter drive.
What are your expectations for running back and defensive end? SJSU let Tulsa's running backs cut through their small defensive line. Do you think they let Moss establish himself, or do they somewhat hold him back to keep him 100% for USC next Friday?
Personally, I think the Utes will have the motivation to lay it on SJSU -- they know what happens when they play down to their opponent (unimpressive win vs. SUU), they want to solidify key positions (RB, DE, WR) and they are 19-1 in OOC games since joining the Pac-12 with the sole loss coming from a back and forth game against Utah State (sorry for bringing that up, K Scott). I just don't see that second loss coming from a SJSU team that is so poor at containing the run. I expect Utah to establish and dominate the run game early.
Troy Williams: 215 yards in the air, 3 TD’s, doesn’t play in 4th quarter
Zack Moss: 15 carries, 80 yards, 1 TD
Troy McCormick: 10 carries, 70 yards
Shyne/Manalo: 10 carries for 60 yards, 1 TD
Tim Patrick: 120 yards, 1 TD
Fulks/Byrd/Singleton: 95 yards, 2 TD’s
Utah defense: 5 sacks, 2 INT’s, +3 TO margin
Special teams: 1 TD, Wishnowsky continues to shine
End result: Utah 48-13 SJSU
