Notable OOC games include Utah vs. Butler on Nov. 28 and Utah @ Xavier on Dec. 10. The Utes will play in the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic from Dec. 23-25 with a pool that includes San Fransisco, Illinois St. and Hawaii.
The Utes open Pac-12 play on New Year's Day in SLC against the Colorado Buffaloes. Utah travels to play the Arizona schools after, and they do not play either the rest of the regular season. They also have the LA schools at home--no trip there this year.
Personally, I like the non-conference slate of games, Butler and Xavier are two top 25 teams and the rest of the schedule allows the Utes to get newcomers valuable minutes before conference play. Kyle Kuzma, Lorenzo Bonam, Gabe Bealer and Jayce Johnson are the only returning scholarship members. Bealer was left out the rotation toward the end of the year, and Johnson used his redshirt year after arriving earlier than expected in December.
