Tidbits from around College Football about expansion
(my A/C went out last night so had to do something by keeping busy!)
The main reason UCLA/USC asking into the Big Ten, yesterday was the last day for them to ask out before penalties go up.
Apple ask Big Ten it wants to join already in-progress media discussions.

“However, with Bruins and Trojans’ approval to join the league, the negotiations could stretch to August and may not be completed until after Labor Day, per Sports Business Journal.”
Are other PC 12 teams asking in the Big Ten? SI says yes…

Andy Staples of the Athletic lists his Big Ten and SEC teams (20 each) in the latest round of super league expansion (he has Utah going to the Big ten in the future)

Does the Loss of USC and UCLA put a target definitely on the backs of UCLA and USC. Does the Pac-12 take their frustration out on them?
Does the expansion to 16 teams in the Big 10 stop at 16? Is it eventually 20? Is 24 teams is the ceiling for expansion.
If the Big 10 closes its media deal this fall and the BIG 10 doesn’t include, Oregon, Wash, ND and Utah, do they get in in the next round of expansion? (I'm using Andy Staples 20-team BIG 10 as an example:0

Utah Brand
It’s unlikely Utah’s entry to the AAU (Association of American Universities) will help them get into one of the two super conferences.
Does Utah’s Brand improve enough if they beat UCLA in LA on Oct 8, beat USC at RES on Oct 15, plus win the PAC Championship again AND get into the college playoff in Jan 2023!
It would be awesome to see that scenario play out and see Utah’s Brand take another step forward.
BIG 10 Divisions
If the BIG 10 goes to 4 5-team divisions does that include a West division, does that improve Utah’s chances to get into the BIG 10? Or would the BIG 10 take Stanford over Utah?
Big Ten
East Division: Ohio State, Maryland, Michigan, Penn State, Rutgers
Central Division: Indiana, Michigan State, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Purdue
Heartland Division: Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Wisconsin
