After a few conversations recently, the bowl prep, as usual was positive for a lot of you guys. Here are some tidbits:

-Everyone keeps talking about Moss and Shyne, we can't forget Henry-Cole. He was one of the bowl prep standouts, as he continues to work on his one main weakness, pass protection.

-Bronson Boyd is someone with a ton of potential, he'll need to maintain his play at a consistent level. He also needs to continue to focus on the mental side of the game.

-Josh Nurse is now a defensive back and so far, the program is ecstatic about the results. The coener back position will be extremely deep in 2018.

-TJ Green has all of the speed that you desire in a football player, and then some. He needs to get a tougher, before seeing meaningful action. The upcoming spring and fall camp will be crucial for him.

-The light seems to have gone on for Maxs Tupai. He was a beast during the prep and the plan for him is to trim down a little and line up at defensive end. He's started to show the quick-twitch and explosiveness needed. Now the challenge is maintaining that.

-There's a lot of excitement around Leki Fotu, John Penisini, Hauati Pututau, and Pita Tonga. The bowl game was all about the seniors, but it's important to note that the program isn't scare at all of life without Lotulelei and Mokofisi. They're eager to see these guys in extended action.

-Defensive end, Mika Tafua is about to be every opponent's nightmare. Everyone I've spoken with is giddy as can be when his name's mentioned. He has a motor, he's mean, and he's physical.

-Jaylen Dixon really benefitted from the redshirt year. He's flashing impressive speed in the slot and there's a lot of excitement for him and Covey in that role, next season.

-This last one is something to follow, as I've alluded to over the last year. During the season when the scout team didn't have to imitate a dual-threat QB, Lisk was the guy behind center. Because of that, Jason Shelley would line up at WR and he looked impressive during his time there. HOWEVER, there has been no conversation from either side about him switching to that, full-time. I think a lot could depend on Tuttle's performance in the spring.
