Hey all, I just got off the phone with Wissler, who announced his commitment to Utah last night. Usually we don't do updates and articles for PWO players, but there's a better than average chance that Wissler could actually end up contributing in a significant way before his Ute career is over.

Wissler said that he chose to walk on at Utah over his other options because Utah is in the Pac-12 and gets great national exposure, and it gave him the best possibility of getting beyond college to the next level, which he said is his dream.

As many of you probably already know, Braedon suffered a season-ending injury in the first game of his senior season, and he said that while it sucked to miss his senior year, if anything, his injury has made him a harder worker and made him want to get out and try harder so he could get back on the field again as soon as he can. He was cleared today to get out and do whatever he wants. In total, his rehab took about 5 months.

Wissler primarily played running back at Bingham, but at Utah, they plan on giving him some reps at running back, slot receiver, and also on special teams as a punt and kick returner. Wissler said that he tries to model his game after Britain Covey as a receiver and Christian McCaffrey as a running back. Wissler has met Covey, and he said that Britain has talked to him a little bit about what it's like being overlooked out of high school. Covey told him to work as hard as he possibly can so that when someone gave him an opportunity, he could take it and run with it.

Wissler said that he's excited to get up to the U, that he's always wanted to be a Ute, and his dreams are coming true.

I'll have more on Wissler in an article coming soon...
