I just spoke with Tyler Wegis, who took an unofficial visit to Utah over the weekend and he loved everything about it. He was blown away by the defensive performance even though he knows their history. He mentioned that when first got his Utah offer, Lewis Powell told him get ready for a ton of offers to follow their’s and he was right, both Oregon State and Virginia came right after.
The thing that really stood out to him was the stadium atmosphere, even with the weather. Utah was his first unofficial, but he says an official visit will absolutely happen.
He flew under the radar because last year he was about 6’4” 170 pounds. He knew his dad had his growth spurt just before his senior year, so he started eating a ton and hitting the weights hard, eventually getting to 6’6” 210 pounds.
More to come, but Utah currently sits in a good spot. It’s going to be interesting to see who else piggybacks off of Utah’s offer.
