OK, with the news breaking on Twitter that Utah offered Santa Monica CC quarterback (and Washington bounceback) Troy Williams, I'll give you a quick update and a few thoughts on Williams. First of all, I talked to Williams Sunday evening. He told me that Utah offered him on Friday. He also has an offer from UAB and is getting interest from a few more schools.
Williams was a four star QB coming out of Narbonne HS in So Cal. He signed with Washington out of HS, but left the program when they switched offenses and it was clear that he wasn't going to get a real shot at the starting spot. He transferred to Santa Monica and has had a really solid year. He's a nice dual threat QB, and has the potential to command an offense.
He hasn't set up any official visits, although he did visit Utah unofficially in the summer. Based on our conversation, I wouldn't be surprised if he made a decision soon. Here are a few links:
