I caught up with Tustin (Calif.) ATH Alema Pilimai this evening. Pilimai was just offered last week by the Utes. He was one of the best players at All Poly camp, and also attended Utah's padded camp this summer. He has offers from Utah, BYU, Oregon State, and Utah State, among others. Coach Ena is his main recruiter. Here are a couple of things to watch in his recruitment:
- He's LDS and will serve a mission first. BYU offered first. They're definitely a contender.
- He said he's a huge fan of Coach Whittingham.
- He's close friends with 2015 Ute signee George Wilson. He says he's going to call George later this week to see how things are going.
- Kalani Sitake is his recruiter at Oregon State.
- He's hoping to make a decision by August.
Pilimai plays QB. TE, and OLB for Tustin, but would most likely be an OLB/DE in college. Utah's a contender here, but they're going to have to fight for him. We'll know in about a month what he's going to do.
