Head Coach Kyle Whittingham

The biggest disappointment was the amount of penalties from the North Dakota game.

Tyler Huntley played very well in his first start. Had some mistakes, but settled down quickly. One of the reasons he earned the starting spot is his ability to extend plays.

Lots of positives this week – but there is plenty to work on.

Zack Moss is a talented running back and was very productive for the Utes. He held onto the ball and gain yardage.

The preparation process for the BYU game is just like normal.

The rivalry is still very intense. Players and coaches know each other and the timing doesn’t change the intensity of it.

BYU had a tough outing on Saturday. They played a very good LSU defense. But, they’re just like every team in the country; you don’t really know who you are this early in the season. It takes weeks to develop that.

Coach Whittingham said that previous games don’t matter – this game seems to bring out the best in both teams.

Kyle considers Kalani a close friend, he brings a different feel as a coach to the game. It’s still a big game to everyone.

You just play a passionate non-conference game as your schedule unfolds. With the given circumstances, it’s best to play the game at the start of the year.

The upcoming game is business as usual.

There has been enough evolving and changing of the schemes since Kalani left.

Football is fun, coaching the team is great. It has to be fun because it’s so consuming.

LSU ran only about four plays, they weren’t very elaborate. They were physical on both sides of the ball.

Filipo Mokofisi

The defense is ready for the upcoming game.

This game is a big deal to him, he loves checking social media here and there and see what is being said.

A goal this week is to be composed as a team, especially after the penalties against North Dakota.

Tyler Huntley

The biggest goal is not coming out slow against BYU.

The penalties were due to aggressiveness. The team didn’t hit much in camp and was excited to finally hit.

Coach Whitt has told the team “We don’t lose to those people down south.”

The Utes love the underdog mentality.

Tyler was once told, “If you love something, you’ll go hard after it and I love football.” He loves football and keeps that mentality going.

Darren Carrington

The biggest thing is your mindset – you gotta prepare.

He expects a lot of hate, especially because of his story. That hate fuels him.

“This is my team, if you hate them, I hate you.”

BYU will have to pick it’s poison on offense. Anybody can make a play at any given moment.

He lives for big time moments, A coach once told him, “Put up or shut up” and he still uses that mentality.
