I wonder if it was more because of the way he missed than actually missing it. The kick seemed weak and fluffy. Gay's kicks seemed to have more of the Andy Phillips sound to them. I've always wondered if stocky guys make better kickers because they don't have to put as much foot speed into it. You know, the whole mass times velocity thing. Too bad Gay's a senior.
On the kickoffs, I love that there's no question that Wish has the distance to put it through the uprights. Given his great control of angles, I'd love to see them try and put a few loftier kicks into the left corner, short of the goal line. It would be the ideal spot to trap a return man.
