The good ole' boys from the "Boot" did very well this weekend. The team was built with about half La. guys and a few from Alabama as well as Florida. I was very pleased with their effort as we finished with an official record of 5-2. On the first day there was some confusion about the score in the game against the Texas team. The official score was Texas winning by a point but in all actuality we had won by six. No big deal we took it in stride and moved on.

The team was led by Stevie Douglas who again showed that he can throw with the best of them. At wr we had Jarvis "Socks" Landry, Odell Beckham, Devin Boutte, Cortez Davis (FL), the ever improving Dylan Yesso, and Aaron Ernest from Al. who also won the fastest man competition.

The two La. stars only solidified themselves with stellar outings on both sides of the ball. Jarvis showed everyone what he is about with great hands and the ability to run after the catch. There was a play which he caught a slant shook two defenders, and broke it inside the five only to put a wicked spin move that froze the defender leading to a score. He doubled as a safety and corner and showed great instincts and technique at both positions.

Odell once again showed that he is ELITE! The kid is just unreal. He made acrobatic catches, ran great routes, and was never downed by just one man. His ability to make plays on jump balls is sensational. This go round he decided to play some corner and was lights out. He had a one handed leaping interception that wooed the crowd. He is a star and by the end of it all will be considered for five star status.

Perhaps the biggest weapon was the 6-4 corner/wr from Daytona Mainland, Cortez Davis. Throughout the entire tourney Cortez absolutely took his opponents out of the earning the nickname "Praying Mantis." He is surely a better player than his 200 or so overall ranking and I assume that will change after his stellar performance.
