I've been mulling this over for some time, and I don't buy everything about it.
It's one thing to lose a kid to USC, and other traditional powers and another to lose them to BYU or others of their ilk. Someone mentioned that of the top 10 players in the state of Texas, not one of them signed with Texas. It happens folks. I will consider it a failure if these top kids choose independent programs or Oregon State, but not to USC. I don't like it but it's not failure.
