5 Points from Spring Football: Defense 3/2

1. Potential starting LB Sione Lund is suspended for violating team rules, so we’ll see what kind of effect that has on the linebacking core moving forward.
   
   
2. Former Safety Stone Azacorn appeared to take reps at LB with the first unit during a 7 v 7 drill. Not sure how permanent that is but from walk-on to starting on the defense is a testament to his hard work.
   
   
3. In a ‘spot-drop’ drill that required LB’s and DB’s to drop coverage, stop on a dime and recover on a reception caught in front of them, all players active in the drill were flying around the field, converging almost simultaneously. Everyone looked fast.
   
   
4. Irrelevant news from spring camp day one, DC Morgan Scalley throws a really tight spiral.
   
   
5. Today was about learning terminology, assignments and understanding rotations. Despite a possible depth chart this early in the season, each position was a revolving door with a lot of guys getting a lot of reps.
