A former BAMMA welterweight champion, Edwards (22-4, 1 NC) went on a thirteen-fight unbeaten streak from 2016 to 2023. At UFC 278, he landed a last-second head kick that took down Kamaru Usman to win the UFC welterweight title. Following two defenses, he lost the belt against Belal Muhammad in July.
A former Cage Fury FC welterweight champion, Brady (17-1) is on a two-fight win streak. The only loss of his career was against Muhammad.
Edwards was supposed to fight Jack Della Maddalena until the latter was chosen as Muhammad's new challenger. Brady is ranked fifth in the welterweight rankings, while Edwards, ranked first, doesn't mind the change in opponent.
