NEW COMMIT: Karson Kaufusi, DE, Skyline HS

I’m driving, so I’ll get more info later, but another Kaufusi is joining the Utes. This is. Doug Kaufusi’s son, Karson, who is already 6-foot-6 and 265 pounds, so his likely future home will be DT once he fills completely out.

This is a nice get. I’ll reach out to his dad tonight.

Kentucky eliminated Oregon State from the NCAA college baseball tournament with a 3-2 win. Sunday's loss ended more than the Beavers' season.

Oregon State was the last Pac-12 team standing in the bracket. With nobody representing the conference in Omaha for the College World Series, the game ended the current iteration of the Pac-12. The Los Angeles Times' Bill Shaikin marked its time of death at 9:33 p.m. PDT.

Runnin’ Utes hire assistant coach Josh Eilert

The intrigue is that he coached under Bob Huggins and was the WVU interim HC last season. I need to process this more, but of Utah’s three assistant coaches, they have three years of P4 level coaching experience as they head into the toughest basketball conference in college basketball.

For the overall staff, the handling of the Andre Miller hiring will sting this next year.

Weekend of June 1st Official Visitors

Three recruits were on campus this weekend, Micah Matthews, Shelton Fuller, and Josiah Hammond. Current commit Nela Tupou was initially scheduled, but moved his trip.

Matthews has asked me to catch up with him tomorrow. I’ll be talking with Hammond tonight, and I’m working on getting a hold of Fuller.

I’m told that everything seemed to go really well with the trips, but it’s so early within the summer recruiting process that you just don’t know right now.
