The 2024 Olympia, held in Las Vegas, NV, from Oct. 10-13, 2024, features 11 IFBB Pro League division contests to determine the best bodybuilders in the world. Stay tuned to this page for live results from each division throughout the contest.
The biggest event in all of bodybuilding is finally happening this weekend, the Mr. Olympia contest. This is when the best of the best in all 11 divisions come together to compete for the prestigious Olympia title in their respective division, the highest award in the sport. It is a weekend full of competition, a full expo for fans to enjoy all things fitness, and so much more.
Last year the event was held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. However, this year it is returning to Vegas, and the fans are pumped! How and where can you watch it? What is the order of events? Who is qualified? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
Walker and coach Matt Jansen released a video on Walker’s YouTube channel on Oct. 5 sharing the news and explaining their reasoning for withdrawing from the contest:
From Eastchester, New York, Jonathan was inspired by his dad to become the IFBB Pro bodybuilding champ he is today.
Born May 29, 1984, Jonathan began training from a young age after he picked up an injury playing football in high school.
Jonathan lost a lot of strength due to inactivity during his recovery period, and he found bodybuilding was a way to get back the weight and strength he had lost.
“We just had to face the music; this is not the year,” Jansen said, explaining that Walker’s body was not responding to his prep as they felt it needed to win the 60th edition of the Mr. Olympia. Jansen stated this decision was not about avoiding losing on stage.
Keone Pearson won Classic Physique in 2023, while Derek Lunsford won Mr. Olympia. Who will take it all home at the 60th edition of Mr. Olympia?
There are voices within the bodybuilding world advocating a more natural approach, stressing that it is possible to achieve a high level of competition without the use of steroids. Bodybuilders such as Frank Zane and Lee Haney have championed the idea that dedication, proper nutrition and intelligent training can lead to success without the need to resort to these substances.
"We have big plans for number 60. This one is dedicated to Joe Weider and to everyone who has contributed to the massive growth and popularity of the Olympia throughout the world," Olympia owner Jake Wood said.
