Welcome to the first ever Ute Nation Live Recruiting Chat. With the former players we have on board, we've also asked them to break down how they see their old positions being used in the new offense, so feel free to fire any questions at them. Kenneth will try to jump on, but he's currently working and will at least go back and answer any questions later.

With that said, there's a lot of info here, so go ahead and browse through bit by bit, asking any questions whenever you'd like.

Happy recruiting season, folks!!!

Notes on the 1/13-1/15 official visitors--

We’re just over two weeks away from what could potentially be the Utes best signing class to date, that being said, there’s still a lot of dominos that need to fall. First off, I posted a few nuggets yesterday regarding this last weekend, but here you go:

-The Blair commitment is absolutely huge, as Utah beat out numerous P5 programs. This commit will allow Scalley to be creative with his packages and the possibility is there for Hansen to move to linebacker. That being said, we see both Blair and Hansen being used in more of a hybrid SS/LB role.

-Nick Ford spoke with us briefly and he said that this trip will be extremely difficult to beat. He has the utmost respect for Harding and he’s built up a very trusting and solid relationship with Sharrieff Shah. He’s favorite thing about the trip? The family feeling that he got from everyone. We expect him to be a Ute.

-We’re hearing from a few sources that Daniel Green’s visit couldn’t have gone any better. Utah is now considered the team to beat, but we’ll see what happens after his Oregon State visit--his mom’s initial preference.

-Alden Tofa played phone tag with Derek yesterday as Derek was traveling back from Oregon. However, all his questions (academics and more) were answered and the myth was dispelled in regards to early playing time, post mission. We’re not sure what BYU guy tried planting that in his mind, but it couldn’t be further than the truth. Tofa will be an immediate contributor, wherever he goes. Alex also talked with one of Tofa’s family members, who said they were blown away by everything. Utah has set the bar extremely high and additional sources have told us BYU has began to squirm.

-We have yet to reach out to De’Andre Wilder, but with reason… our sources just don’t see him becoming a Ute.

-Javelin Guidry isn’t really wanting to take calls, but Mikey has been able to message him occasionally. While he had initially committed to Herman when he was at Houston and now he’s offered him from Texas (Guidry’s dream school), our sources remain hopefully optimistic. The reason for that optimism is Ute Nation was expecting him to become a Ute, before that offer. We’ll continue to try and reach him.

Additional Random Notes:
-Multiple sources have told us there is one potential high-profile transfer that could end up at Utah, but it’s a sensitive situation and will be discussed in detail at a later date. It could be summer, before we are able to mention it.

-There is at least one mystery visitor that will be visiting in the next two weeks. As is typical, we’ll inform you when the time is right.

-The ship has sailed on a few wide receivers. Corrales just committed to North Carolina. We’ve been told Gavin Holmes will no longer be visiting, but we never got the sense that Utah was that overly enthused with him. Also, the Utes are are no longer pursuing Ty Jones.
