I had the chance to talk with Bingham linebacker Sione Fotu tonight, and he updated me on his recruitment. He said that his recruitment has been pretty quiet as far as new offers since the beginning of his senior season, though he did pick up an offer from Tennessee last week.

He mentioned that he has official visits set up to Cal, Washington State, and Utah, and that the coaches from all of those schools have been showing him a lot of love. The only other official visit that he's considering taking at this point is to Utah State. He said that Utah, Cal and Washington State are the three that are highest up on his list.

As for Utah, both Colton Swan and Sione Pouha have been recruiting him hard, and he said that he likes that his relationship with Swan feels more like a personal relationship than just a recruiting relationship. As for Pouha, Fotu said he's a family friend and that they go to church together. Fotu mentioned that he's always been a Utah fan and he loves how the defense up there doesn't take anything for granted and just works, and also said that Francis Bernard is one of his favorite players to watch. He also loves the stability of the coaching staff at Utah, and likes that he wouldn't have to worry about a coaching change while he's there.

Fotu is considering serving a mission, though he didn't say if it was a sure plan or not, and he also mentioned that he is leaning towards announcing his decision on the December signing day.

Look for more in a forthcoming article.
