-Aside from Kincaid and Kuithe, Logan Kendall will be used in the Cole Fotheringham role along the LOS. You’ll also see him as a fullback. Thomas Yassmin is a complete TE and someone who has really come along that Freddie is really excited about. Munir McClain is more of a pass-catching TE.

-Kuithe will be utilized much more in a hybrid role. Almost view him as positionless and a wild card from week to week. He’s really improved his leadership over the offseason and it’s become a strength to him as a player.

-The move to TE made sense for McClain because of his measurables. He’ll be a hybrid option like Kuithe, think TE/slot role. The NFL has hit the point where they’re looking for speed TEs and McClain’s game fits that mold. Run blocking is a work in progress for him right now though, and understandably so.

-The transfer portal is probably going to become more of an effective tool for them in getting TEs because it’s a tricky evaluation in HS. Typically they look for those outside WRs that are 6-foot-4 to 6-foot-5 and they can see getting up to 240 pounds with their frame. Additionally, Utah utilizes the TEs much more, under utilized TEs that have developed will see transferring to the Utes as a big benefit.

-Kincaid has done a great job adding weight the last two years and maintaining his athleticism. The one question they had about him evaluating his time at San Diego, was his pass blocking. He’s made great strides in that area. Freddie also highlighted how much Dalton has grown as a leader.

-With Kendall, he has that “care factor.” He’s done a great job learning the schemes. He’s such a physical player that they’re wanting to focus on his hand strike and his steps out of his stance. He should have a key role. He has a big-time motor that doesn’t stop.
