A couple of things have happened in spring football that, IMO, make it very important for Conner Manning to stick around at Utah. First off is the injury to Brandon Cox. When I hear about recurring foot injuries in athletes my mind runs to all the careers that have been ended by them. Second, is the slow progression of Donovan Isom at the QB position. It's very possible that next year we could be looking at a very thin quarterback position. If Conner were to transfer from the program, we could be one injury away from disaster. Now maybe Conner isn't the ideal fit for the system but he has a terrific arm and would provide a steady presence in the throw game. I love the idea of a back up QB being a juinior who's been in the program for 3 years.
