I caught up with commit Ohaji Hawkins to talk about his visit last weekend. He had a great time and was really impressed with how nice and how passionate the Utah fan base is. He loved how close the team was and said that after they lost to UCLA, they kind of kicked the coaches out and met as a team to pick each other up. Chris Hart was his host, and the two talked a lot about the family atmosphere in the program.
Hawkins told me that he's on schedule to qualify academically. His football season is over, but he's playing basketball and will compete in the high jump on the track team. He still plans on playing cornerback when he arrives on campus.
Hawkins had a pretty strong senior season. He had 3 interceptions, 32 tackles, 8 pass breakups, 2 fumble recoveries, and 2 tackles for loss. He mostly played corner as a senior, but did play a little safety when the team went into a cover two.
I'll have an article on him soon. In the meantime, here are his highlights: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2643123/ohaji-hawkins
