Utah offered Ball High School (Galveston, TX) defensive backs Zion and Tristin McCollum this weekend. The offers came as a result of the camp they held in Houston late last week. Utah had been scouting the McCollum twins pretty heavily, but they wanted to get a closer look at them at the camp before there was an offer. Both kids re outstanding athletes, and they have great bloodlines. Their dad is a pro basketball player in Europe. Morgan Scalley is the lead recruiter, and he's been hitting Texas especially hard this year.
Their recruitment is only now starting to heat up. Sam Houston State is their only other offer, but they're getting a lot of looks from Big 12 schools. Both of these kids will be players to watch.
Zion is a 6'2" CB and is an aggressive tackler/hitter. He's a kid that could also play safety in Utah's scheme. Here are his highlights:
