Those that follow Utah football or Utah football players may have noticed them using the hashtag #UTAMovement as they've posted pictures and videos of their various activities. I wanted to take a couple of minutes to explain what's going on:
UTA Movement is what the team is calling its winter conditioning team competition. UTA stands for Utah Team Accountability. What happened is that 12 members of the program's Leadership Council drafted players from the program and each of these teams compete with one another every day. The competition includes how each of the teams perform in the weight room, in team running and conditioning drills, work in the classroom, community service, etc.
This is a way for the team to get ready for spring football, keep up on important activities like school and community service, and keep it fun at the same time. (And this team does a lot of stuff in the community). As of right now, Andy Phillips' team is in the lead. Here is a link to some of the things you can see the team doing on Twitter:
