2017 NBA Draft set for this Thursday in Brooklyn
SALT LAKE CITY – Utah forward Kyle Kuzma hopes to join a long list of former Runnin' Utes who have been selected in the NBA Draft, which is set to take place this Thursday evening in Brooklyn. The 2017 NBA Draft will be televised live on ESPN, with coverage set to begin at 5 p.m. MT.
If selected Thursday night, Kuzma would become the third-straight and 44th player overall to be selected by an NBA team in the draft. It would mark a third-straight season that a Utah player has been selected in the draft under current head coach Larry Krystkowiak.
Utah could have a player taken in the NBA Draft for a third-straight season, should Kuzma be selected Thursday evening. If so, it would be the first time since 1998-2000 that a Utah player was selected in back-to-back-to-back seasons. The last time that happened, Michael Doleac was selected 12th overall in 1998, Andre Miller went 8th overall in 1999 and Hanno Mottola was taken in the second round (40th overall) in 2000.
