I first saw Delon in a small gym at City College of San Francisco. The first time I watched him play, my first thought was that he was going to be the second coming of Andre Miller. I hadn't seen a player with such excellent vision and instincts since Miller, and it was evident that he made every one of his teammates better. I didn't want to oversell him at the time, but I knew he'd be special.
It's been a pleasure to watch the Delon Wright era at Utah. He was the true catalyst for the quick and dramatic turnaround of the program. Delon has played outstanding basketball at Utah for two years, and he's represented the school with dignity and class. He's a player that Ute fans should be proud to call their own.
Delon isn't a perfect player, but he's going to be a very good pro. He plays great defense and will be the glue guy that makes things spark for a smart NBA team. He'll thrive in an environment where he's not the guy that everyone expects to take over.
