Just got off the phone with three-star running back from St. John Bosco, George Holani. He plays on one of the top high school teams in the nation with the no. 1 ranked player in 2020, DJ Uiagalelei, and is the featured back on the team.
Right now, the Utes are after a multitude of backs -- Nayquan Wright, Michael Hollins and Daniel Fortune to name a few. They like George's game and he's currently being recruited at running back, but he's the type of athlete that could be easily converted to receiver or safety down the road (my take).
Holani got a visit during the BYE week from the Kiel McDonald and Kyle Whittingham. He mentioned that he and coach "Mac" have a great relationship and he give him workouts and drills to do on his own.
The Utes are in a four-team race for Holani, with the others being BYU, Oregon and Boise State. So far, the Utes are the only visit he has planned is to Utah in December, but it appears he is zeroing in on a decision to commit in the next couple weeks. He mentioned that the Utes are the leader right now based on his relationship with the coaches and current players, so that's definitely something to keep an eye on...
