I recently spoke with Timpview's Gabe Reid and his recruitment will want to be monitored over the next week. I expect a decision on Monday and while Dan and I get the feel that he's a Stanford lean. In my opinion, it's going to be between the Trees and Utah. Why? Because if Reid was going to go to BYU, Covey would have gone with him. Therefore, the writing should be on the wall, there.
During the interview, he was very high on his Utah visit and the fact that Utah has no DC, LB or DE coach, isn't a negative. He knows Utah's defensive history didn't start or stop with Sitake and Tuiaki. He'll be tripping BYU this weekend, but in my opinion at this point in time, it's just a visit.
Reid isn't just close with Covey, He grew up with Empey, as well. Covey recently told me that him, Reid, Empey, and Fabrizio had all talked about playing together. Expect those guys to present an interesting case before Reid's upcoming decision.
