I just talked to California offensive line prospect Chris Murray, who was just in Salt Lake City over the weekend for his official visit. Murray was the only prospect here this last weekend, and he said that it was kind of cool to be the only one since it allowed him so much one on one time with the coaches. His mom also made the visit and together they checked out Salt Lake and the Utah campus.

Murray said he really liked all that the campus had to offer. They checked out a lot of the business buildings and the Lassonde Institute- Chris is interested in a business degree and doing something entrepreneurial. They also took a short trip up to Park City so Chris could get a look at the snow. He said he really liked the weather while he was here and that he liked how Salt Lake was a big city but that there wasn't a ton of traffic.

Murray got to know Darrin Paulo, who was his player host, as well as the rest of the offensive linemen, and said he bonded with them within minutes of meeting them. He said that Paulo gave him some good advice about the recruiting process and told Murray that he ultimately needed to choose the place that would be best for him.

Chris was already really high on Utah, he said he loved his visit, that he saw nothing negative that would cause Utah to move down his list, and that they may have even moved up a little bit. Chris has an official visit scheduled to Notre Dame later on this year, and is still trying to set up some other visits. He'll be committing after the season and will make a formal announcement at the Army All-American game.

As always, more to come in an upcoming article...
