SALT LAKE CITY — No. 11 Utah women's basketball junior guard Gianna Kneepkens will miss the remainder of the 2023-24 season after suffering an injury to her right foot that will require surgery. Kneepkens will be eligible to get the season back.

Kneepkens' injury occurred in the 87-68 win over BYU on Saturday, Dec. 2.

Kneepkens will undergo surgery at the University of Utah Hospital at a later date.

Statement from Head Coach Lynne Roberts
"Our entire program is devastated for Gianna. No one works harder and competes to win like she does. I know she will attack this like she does everything else and come back better than ever. While this is adversity for our program, I believe in our players and know that we'll persevere and our goals are still achievable."
