Hey guys. After initially being told there would be no observation today, we were allowed to catch the last 10-15 minutes of practice which included punt return and 3rd team offense vs 3rd team defense. Troy Taylor said that the offense was a little sloppy today despite high energy, but he isn't too worried about it after having five good practices in a row. There's not a ton to talk about today, unfortunately, but here are your five points:
- Boobie Hobbs, Demari Simpkins, and Bronson Boyd were returning punts today. All three of those guys looked speedy and shifty and there were no bobbled catches that we saw.
- Jason Shelley took all of the snaps at QB today during the observation period, but the third team O line was getting abused by the defense. Despite that, Shelley still managed to make a few nice throws, but he was running for his life most of the day.
- Shelley's play of the day came when he was forced to scramble out of the pocket and run to his right. He launched the ball downfield and found Dakota Baker on the right sideline for about 25 yards.
- Tyquez Hampton had a nice catch on a screen pass that went for about 10 yards, he also took a jet sweep that went around the edge for about a 15 yard gain.
- Last, Nick Ford, who joined the team as a defensive lineman but switched to offense at the beginning of fall camp, took snaps at right tackle the entirety of the one drive we got to see.
