Alright guys, we didn't get to see any action today as they kept the scrimmage off limits to media observation, but I was able to get in on the Troy Taylor interview today. Here are the main points of his interview.

  • The offense executed very well, made a lot of plays. No drops by the wide receivers, he said the receivers as a whole are coming along. QBs played well, offensive line was good. Taylor said it was one of the offense's best days of camp.
  • All the QBs played great, and aside from the top 3, Shelley and Lisk got some reps as well. The QB competition is not over yet, Taylor said he wants to give each player as much of an opportunity as possible to prove himself before naming a starter.
  • Some of the receivers who had been banged up earlier this week were back in action in the scrimmage today.
  • Taylor praised the offensive line and said that the pass protection was really good today. The line is not completely settled, but they've got a better idea of who the 7-8 guys in the OL rotation will be.
  • The offense is about 80% installed and the installation is being picked up well by the players.
  • Taylor said that he thinks that Utah is pretty good at every position as long as they stay healthy, can't really think of an area that's limited.
  • Taylor said they need at least 8 receivers that can play and they're trying to figure out who those guys are.
  • Taylor wants the QBs to be very involved in the run game because it's difficult to defend. Gives the offense another guy in the run game and is a big part in what he's always done. Said Huntley is the most elusive runner, but said that Williams is also a good athlete.
