Hey guys, we didn't get to see too much of the offense today as most of the observation period was focused on field goal kicking and kickoff returns. There were only two series of red zone work, but I picked everything out of it that I could for you. Here are your five points:

  1. Troy Williams was with the ones and Tyler Huntley with the twos. Both got the opportunity to lead a red zone drive, and Williams capped his off with a 15 yard TD pass to Troy McCormick on a screen play. Huntley's team unfortunately went four and out as they were not able to get anything going against a very good effort from the 2nd team defense.
  2. Jackson Barton did a very nice job against Kylie Fitts in the few plays we saw. He looked solid in pass protection against Utah's best DE.
  3. Troy Taylor said that both Williams and Huntley continue to play well and are throwing the ball accurately. He said there's not a huge gap between the two right now and both have been doing good things in practices.
  4. We saw quite a few guys back returning kicks today. Kyle Fulks, Kenric Young, TJ Green, Javelin Guidry, Samson Nacua, Troy McCormick, Tyrone Smith, and Jaylon Johnson all fielded kicks. Javelin Guidry is fun to watch, even running at 75% speed he just looks like he's flying. We also saw Wishnowsky handle some kickoff duty, and he did great. All of his kicks were either going out the back of the end zone or being fielded at the very back of it.
  5. The kicking battle continues to be up in the air. The kickers as a group went 6/9, with all three of them hitting 2/3. Johnston definitely has the strongest leg of the three, but someone needs to step up and take the job, because right now nobody is standing out.
