I'm just curious who everyone else thinks is underrated and overrated in the draft tonight.
In general, I think that the Warriors' win represents a shift in the NBA away from big men and towards swing men. Therefore, the two guys I think could be really underrated are Winslow and Stanley Johnson. Both impressed me when we played their teams. Obviously Winslow hurt Utah much more than Okafor. Both can play BOTH ends of the floor so you don't have to take them out during crunch time like you will Okafor who is a horrible defender. To go from good to great both will need to be able to hit the 3, but Winslow certainly hit a few timely 3s against us (damn). I also like the big kid from Texas that some think the Jazz will draft, Myles Turner. Rick Barnes is such an awful coach that in some ways his players are underrated because he doesn't know how to use them. Barnes couldn't even figure out how to get Kevin Durrant or Lamarcus Aldridge to the sweet 16. Some players in a good situation with a strong coach appear better than they really are, while the reverse appears to be true for Myles.
As for overrated, I'll point to Okafor first. I was listening to an interview with Duke's coach K and he mentioned how Okafor's work ethic needs to improve. Not something I want to hear about the guy I'm handing the keys over to. I was frankly shocked at how blasé coach K was about his star player.
I know people are going crazy over Dangelo Russell the kid from Ohio State. He is the classic tweener, between a true PG and a SG. However, Russell is an awful defender, and he strikes me as a classic big time scorer who doesn't result in wins, ala Iverson, Steve Francis, etc.,
