FAMILY DUO CAPTURES MIXED DOUBLES: Thunder Bay’s Tyler Stewart and Nicole Westlund-Stewart were spectacular at the 2025 Northern Ontario mixed doubles championship this past weekend at the Kakabeka Falls Curling Club. Coming through the A-side with a perfect 4-0 record that put them straight through to the provincial final.

In the finals, Tyler and Nicole faced Sudbury’s Dustin Montpellier and Amanda Gates. It was a back on forth game between the two teams. After six ends it looked as though Tyler and Nicole had a comfortable 7-3 lead with two ends to go, however Dustin and Amanda struck back with a huge 4 ender to tie the game. In the final end, Tyler and Nicole had a sigh of relief as they managed to score their single point to seal the win.

The family duo will now get to represent Northern Ontario at the Canadian mixed doubles championships in Summerside, P.E.I., from March 16-21.adsadasdsad
