Utah will be hosting five official visitors on campus this weekend to close out the recruiting season. Here's a quick breakdown of who will be on campus:
Alfred Smith[/B]
WR - Destrehan High School (Destrehan, LA)
Rivals Profile: https://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Alfred-Smith-151526
Hudl Film: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1614604/alfred-smith
Offers: Utah, Tulane
Breakdown: After decommitting from the Utes last spring, Smith was a longtime ASU commit before he parted ways with the Sun Devils this month. Smith was high school teammates with Ute QB Donovan Isom, and although his numbers were down in his senior season, his entire body of work in his three years of varsity football is impressive. At this point it looks like the only programs Smith is considering are Utah and Tulane. The visit this weekend will likely go a long way to determining his future.
Noah Togiai[/B]
TE - Hunter HS (West Valley City, UT)
Rivals Profile: http://sports.yahoo.com/utah/football/recruiting/player-Noah-Togiai-157746
Hudl Film (Football): http://www.hudl.com/athlete/831454/noah-togiai
Hudl Film (Basketball): http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3519349/noah-togiai[/URL]
Offers: Utah, Oregon State
Breakdown: Although he is still technically considered a Utah commit, Togiai is seriously considering offers from the Utes and Oregon State. Whichever school he decides on, Togiai will be signing a football LOI and will play basketball as well. He had a great trip to Corvallis last weekend, but the Utes get the last shot to keep him in the fold. Look for them to roll out the red carpet.
Baylor Romney[/B]
QB - Franklin HS (El Paso, TX)
Rivals Profile: http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Baylor-Romney-165757
Hudl Film: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2571880/baylor-romney
Nevada Commit
Breakdown: Romney is currently committed to Nevada, but won't enroll anywhere until after he serves his LDS mission. He doesn't have an offer from Utah just yet, but the Utes are bringing him in to take a closer look. Romney had a terrific senior season, which is what attracted the Utes' attention in the past few weeks.
Tyrone Smith[/B]
CB - Edison HS (Fresno, CA)*
Hudl Film: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1496701/tyrone-smith
Utah Commit
Breakdown: Smith was a 2014 graduate of Edison High in Fresno, and has been working toward joining the Utes as a grayshirt candidate this spring. He's still got one more grade that needs to post before he can officially join the team, but he'll be taking his official to lock down his future plans at Utah. He's expected to start out at cornerback, and at 6'3" can be an imposing figure in the mold of ex-Utes Sean Smith and Keith McGill.
Joseph Williams[/B]
RB - ASA College (New York, NY)
Hudl Film: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/4175649/joseph-williams
Breakdown: We've been talking about Williams as a "Mystery Guy" for the past several weeks. Utah coaches are extremely high on him, and for good reason - Williams has been tearing up defenses during his sophomore season. Williams is a big back that can handle the load of being an every down back. He isn't afraid of contact and has breakaway speed. Utah has been actively recruiting Williams for several months, and will be pushing hard for his services. Don't be surprised if he commits to the Utes over the weekend.
