We we decided to punt from inside midfield on 4th and less than one that was the key change for me. We were driving well and should have been easily able to push forward for a yard. With a first down we would likely have tied the game going into half-time.
The problem with a play like that and a later identical opportunity at the goal line is that you send a message to the players that you have no confidence in them to make a yard. If the coach does not have confidence in them then who will?
