It seems to be that Utah badly needs to recruit a center (5 spot) for 2016 (or 2015 if they have a scholarship left for 2015 (I don't think they do) and if anyone good is still available. As bad as Poetl has played the last 2 games he still may get assurances of being a Round 1 pick and leave. Even if he doesn't leave, we lose Bachynski which leaves us the following for next year:

One more year at best crowd:

1. Jeremy Olsen: RS Sr next year: 6'10" - Seems like an ok back up but probably not a PAC-12 5 spot starter.
2. Jakob Poetl: So. next year: 7'0" - Might not be back. If he is, he's likely gone after next year so he and Olsen would then leave at the end of 2015-2016.

The current future after 2015-2016.

1. Kyle Kuzma: Soph. next year: 6'9" Seems like more of a 4 (very thin) than a 5. Would be undersized against most PAC-12 5's.
2. Brekkot Chapman: Soph. next year: 6'8" - Definitely not a 5 spot player. More of a 3 or 4.
3. Chris Reyes: Jr. next year: 6'7". Good body and strength but way undersized to defend PAC-12 5's.
4. Makol Mawien: Freshman next year: 6'8" per Rivals. Seems undersized to play the 5 spot.
5. No RM's returning that I know of.

When both Olsen and Poetl are gone (likely at the end of 2015-2016), I don't see a center (5 spot) on the roster unless we recruit one for 2016 and then he may have to play as a Freshman (not ideal unless you're exceptional). From what I've seen, we need more size to really compete unless we go very small.

Anyone know of a center (5 spot guy) being recruited?
