Wow. Saying this is chaos right now might be an understatement. There’s concern that the HC and HC-in-waiting limbo is being detrimental to this situation. Utah is 0-2 on Scalley’s preferred choices, both of who liked him too.
We might see Utah pivot to a good option, but one that’ll be viewed as a safe option: Jason Beck.
I stand by what I’ve said that Whittingham has earned the right to leave when he chooses, but there have been plans (much more than just assumptions in place) for him to retire. Any time this happens in coaching history and then gets extended, craziness typically goes on behind the scenes.
