Well, a strong start tonight, gets overshadowed by a second half fade, but there’s still plenty to be intrigued about.
The biggest thing that stands out to me? Sure Barefield had 18 points, but that’s expected out of him. How about those eight assists?! He did a great job initiating the offense, tonight.
With this level of competition, you’d like to see the newcomers perform better, but it’ll come. The new group is talented. Timmy Allen led the way for the freshmen with six points, on only four shots, so he was at least efficient.
Going over five minutes without a FG against a team like Maine, is unacceptable, regardless of it being the first game.
After starting off scorching hot from three-point range, the Utes finished 8-24. Offensive consistency will come, but with this group, it’ll take a little bit of time.
