Yesterday, Cal got a commitment from the #12 WR in the country, Carlos Strickland. My good friend who follows Cal football closely told me that their needs might have been met with Strickland's commitment among the others already committed there. I speculate that Hawkins's visit to Cal over the weekend may have spurned Strickland to pull the trigger. So it seems there is a possibility that Cal's interest might cool on Hawkins leaving one less program to compete with for his services. Might be down to ASU? I get the feeling we're ahead of the smurfs.
