Hey all. We didn't get to see any action today, as the team concluded a light practice before media was allowed in, and did a walkthrough of their pre-game routine while we watched. Here's what I was able to pull out of media availability and interviews
1. It appeared as if the team was ready to settle the "taco vs grilled cheese" debate, from real talk with Reggie, once and for all. There was a grilled cheese truck and a taco truck parked in the south plaza, waiting for the team after practice.
2. Whitt said tomorrow's scrimmage will be about 70 plays of work for the 1s and 2s, followed by some additional work for the 3s. That will conclude fall camp, and next week they'll start game preparation with the scout teams.
3. Josh Nurse weighed in on who he thought one of the defensive team captains would be, naming Julian Blackmon as his prediction.
4. Nurse and Tareke Lewis both gave their thoughts on who they expected to win the interception competition among the defensive backs. Their picks were, wait for it... Josh Nurse and Tareke Lewis, respectively.
5. Whittingham also mentioned that there were still a few positions up for grabs with the twos in tomorrow's scrimmage, not so much with the ones, and that there will be a lot of situational work tomorrow.
