The offense gave us some different looks this morning but overall they are progressing really well together and there is a lot of competition going on within the offense. Many guys are starting to step up and make some plays and show they deserve some playing time this fall. Here are the five points from this morning's practice.

1. Siaosi Mariner stood out today at practice, catching multiple balls by creating just enough separation between him and the corner to be able to reel in some passes. Mariner and Julian Blackmon went against each other most of the day and both of them made some impressive plays. Coach Guy Holliday mentioned that Mariner, Britain Covey, and Demari Simpkins have started to separate themselves from the other receivers.

2. Freshman Devin Brumfield got meaningful reps today at practice and he looks like he is living up to the hype. We still haven't got a good look at Zack Moss because it seems like the coaches are holding him out a bit so Brumfield has been able to see the field a good amount this camp. He looks like he has the same "bowling ball" running style as Moss, and is improving every practice.

3. The tight ends were also used in multiple looks today as well. I was able to catch up with Jake Jackson after practice and he is excited to play a bigger role in this year's offense. There have been many adjustments and different combinations and the whole tight end group is progressing well. Cole Fotheringham had an impressive catch today, beating the safety and laying out for the pass.

4. Solomon Enis caught multiple balls as well today. He is still very young but has proven that he has a lot of potential in this Utah Offense. He was able to body up some of the smaller corners on multiple comeback routes. Coach Guy Holliday is looking for 8 receivers to contribute to the offense and Enis has proved that he is worthy of getting some playing time.

5. Offensive Coordinator Troy Taylor has been impressed all week with the performance of the Offensive Line and specifically said that Jackson Barton is playing a big role as one of the leaders of this group. More than anything they are looking for consistency from this group and the ability to dominate the line and protect the passer.

Overall, the Ute Offense has proven that there are many reasons to be excited for this upcoming season. Like we've said, they are a lot of playmakers on this side of the ball and every day, someone different shines above the others.
