There are many surprises in there, at least for me. The variability of monetary value is astounding. Utah comes in at #39 and fits solidly in with the other PAC 12 schools. Some of the SEC schools are unbelievably low which raises the question of exactly how the values were calculated. It is certainly an interesting read at any rate.
Some examples- according to this finance professor, UCLA's football program is worth only about 10% more than Utah's while Ohio St.'s program is worth more than 500% of Utah's. Utah and Kentucky are about the same while both are twice as valuable as Mississippi St. and four times as valuable as Vanderbilt. Does this make sense to anyone?
