I just sat down and decided I was curious about how many people have watched PAC 12 games this season so far. I went to sports media watch and added up all of the non P12N games (because P12N does not make their viewership numbers available). The number is 60.666 million. Some interesting things I found.

Week 2 the PAC was featured in the three most viewed games of the week: Oregon-Ohio State (7.730 million) Washington-Michigan (4.478 million) and Colorado-Texas A&M (4.502 million) Of course the opponents have a lot to do with those numbers, they are all big name teams but it is also worthy to note that these games are the most watched or second most watched games for the OOC opponent. T A&M played Alabama in week six and that is the only game T A&M has played with more views than the Colorado game. Michigan played Michigan State in week nine to a huge audience but their game against Washington so far is their second most watched game. Ohio State to date has not had a more watched game. I think the illustrates the potential for the alliance between the PAC, BIG 10 and ACC.

It is also interesting that the 10 most watched games the PAC 12 has played so far features Oregon six times. Weather that is because they are the playoff contender in the conference or Oregon is just a big draw I do not know but I do know that in years that Utah was in contention they drew big numbers as well.

The top 10 games were:
1. 7.730 Million (Oregon-Ohio State)
2. 4.748 Million (Washington-Michigan)
3. 4.502 Million (Colorado-Texas A&M)
4. 3.845 Million (Oregon-UCLA)
5. 3.219 Million (UCLA-LSU)
6. 2.868 Million (USC-Notre Dame)
7. 2.726 Million (Oregon-Washington)
8. 2.763 Million (Oregon-Colorado)
9. 2.641 Million (Oregon-Stanford)
10. 1.656 Million (Oregon-Arizona)

As you see Utah is not featured in any of the top 10 most watched games yet. I think they will likely end up with three of them. Utah-Oregon on the 20th, Utah-Colorado the day after Thanksgiving and The Conference Championship game will probably be the 2nd most watched game this season (I doubt it will draw more than Oregon-Ohio State)

I was thinking of going through and finding how the PAC compares to the ACC and the BIG 12 which at a glance seem to draw similar numbers to the PAC. I might do the SEC and BIG 12, too, but the three are really not on the same planet as the two.
